My River

My river is not a static fact
no entry in Wikipedia
no here-to-there nor there-and-back
in the encyclopedia.

My river was born on this day
and will die on another
yet forever find its way
with neither father nor mother.

My river rises in the hills
and leaves them far behind
a far-flung web of rushing rills
to run till end of time.
